For this year, the Praxis Project is partnering with phenomenal grassroots organizations. We will be matching your donations to these groups up to $10,000starting Tuesday, November 30ththrough December 31st, 2021.
Tune in on Tuesday, November 30th to our live chat on Twitter Spaces. We will be discussing our #BeyondtheMoment campaign, sustaining movements, and building community power with some of our 2021 partners.
Worker-owned cooperative models and democratic workplace practices are strategies that have the potential to build community power within justice-oriented organizations seeking to enact these outcomes, in addition to with their constituencies. This brief, developed in partnership with the US Federation of Worker Cooperatives (USFWC), Sustainable Economies Law Center (SELC), and participating organizations, describes worker-owned cooperatives, democratic workplace practices, and other forms of collective governance for grassroots organizations to more effectively transform the systems, structures, policies, and environments that underlie inequity and injustice.
The Praxis Project will be closed for the week of November 22 - November 26th for our team to collectively rest, relax, and recharge. The work to dismantle systems of oppression is hard, we must all rest in order to replenish our energy and continue the fight. We hope you all take a moment this fall to reflect, meditate, and engage in healing practices as we get closer to the end of this year. We look forward to being back in touch on November 29th.
The Equality Act would provide, at the federal level, transgender people with the basic legal protections that only exist in 22 states and the District of Columbia. As Black transgender people, have experienced marginalization like no other group in this country. From state-sanctioned oppression, to intra-communal violence, the Black transgender community has collective trauma that is unique in its scale and scope.
We urge you and/or your organization to sign on to this statement.
